PMO for Georgia Medicaid Claims Processing System
Goal
Plan and manage multiple project teams to improve the implementation of a new Medicaid claims processing system for the state of Georgia.
Challenges
- Project was underway for 9 months with limited progress before Cognitive Technologies was asked for assistance
- Government client was not confident in existing project management and control being provided by the prime
Solution
- Cognitive's approach was to create a PMO and bring in a turnaround team:
- Conducted an assessment of the project management aspect of the project
- Set up the PMO, including standards, processes and governance
- Developed complete, integrated set of project plans encompassing 42 individual plans, over 600 resources, and 10,000 tasks
- Implemented time tracking against plans for all team members
- Provided professional, certified project managers to manage key individual projects within the program
